Lego Star Wars The Original Trilogy Gamecube Video Game $40

After the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in theaters we got Lego Star Wars; a game that was a lot of fun to play simply because it emulated the movies rather well with all the characters being made entirely from Legos. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is even better for the simple fact of nostalgia. Any Star Wars fan will enjoy this.

You'll begin the game in the Cantina in Mos Eisley. This is the hub, and from there you can go into any of the three episodes and play through them. At the start you'll only be able to choose A New Hope, but after completing the first chapter, you can choose The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi.

As you go through the three episodes you'll view some of the most memorable moments of the movies acted out entirely with Legos. These moments aren't only memorable, but they're given a hilarious charm. These moments are also from the actual original versions of the movies as well. In other words, Han Solo DOES shoot first. Lego Star Wars the Original Trilogy is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The game is visually striking. Seeing your favorite characters from the original Star Wars films as Legos is quite a treat. Not only do you get to have nostalgia with Star Wars, but with Legos as well. Even better are the hilarious antics of most of the scenes. To benefit the nostalgia even more is how John Williams' classic score accompanies each and every level of the game. For a Star Wars fan this game is the ultimate nostalgia.

As you play through each of the classic episodes, you'll be in control of several characters. Not all at once, but you'll end up having to switch. At times you may only have two characters, at others there may be as many as seven in your party at once. Your characters, depending on who they are, also have their own unique skills they can use.

Jedi for example, can double jump and use the force. Those who wield blasters have a grappling hook that allows them to ascend to accessible platforms. The droids can open up special doors for you. Other characters, like the Jawas and Ewoks will be able to go into vents and access areas the other characters can't. In all actuality, they're really no different than their counterparts in the original Lego Star Wars. Also like the original Lego Star Wars, you'll constantly have to switch between characters in order to get through each and every area.

You'll have to switch to R2-D2 to open up a door, for example. More than one person can play at a time, which is also really cool. You can also beat up your allies if you wish, and they respawn instantly. The gameplay isn't completely the same, though, there have been some small tweaks made here and there.

The additions to the gameplay aren't huge, but they are welcome. As you progress through levels all your characters may be able to assemble certain materials together to form a droid to help them fight. In the original Lego Star Wars this ability was only given to the Jedi, but here everyone can do it. There are also moments when you'll have to dress up as a stormtrooper in order to gain access through certain doors. You'll also be given the chance at some point to dress up as a bounty hunter and you'll be able to use Thermal Detonators.

Characters also have their own unique abilities. Chewie, for example, can rip a stormtroopers arms right out of his sockets. All of these are welcome additions, and that's not even all there is to the gameplay. From time to time you'll be in command of vehicles. Landspeeders, the Millennium Falcon, the X-Wing and more as you take on some of the more memorable moments from the film, like destroying the death star.

It will probably only take you five hours at the very least to complete the story mode of all three episodes. However, Lego Star Wars II is full of extras. Each time you dispatch an enemy, whether it be in story mode or not, you'll earn money. You can also destroy certain objects and obtain money. You can use the money you gain to purchase cheats and hidden characters.

Each time you get a new character they'll walk around in the hub, and you can switch to them. "Purchasing" characters isn't the only way to get them. You could easily just use one in story mode and you've got him or her. You'll also get hidden characters if you've got saved data from the original Lego Star Wars. Just unlocking all the characters takes a lot of time.

The importance of unlocking characters is so you can play through certain aspects of the free play mode. There are places that in story mode the default characters couldn't reach. These hidden characters might be able to reach it, though, and so you will find yourself playing through levels again. The good news is these levels are so much fun that playing through a second, third or even fourth time is no hassle at all.

Free mode also offers a way for you to customize what a character looks like. You could put Yoda's head on Luke Skywalker's body, for example. This is mostly just a lot of fun to mess around with. Some combinations are just all out crazy. You could, for example, put Chewbacca's head on Leia's body from when she's wearing the slave outfit in Return of the Jedi. This really doesn't do a whole lot for the gameplay as a whole, but it is quite fun to mess around with, and the combinations are endless.

The only real problem with this game that I can really think of is that there is little, if any, challenge at all. Each time you die you respawn right where you left off and you have infinite lives. There's really no such thing as a game over. If you die the only penalty is that you lose money. However, the sheer fun factor of the game is enough to do away with that, and still makes Lego Star Wars II a treat.

Lego Star Wars II surpasses the original in just about everyway. It's a Star Wars game for the classic trilogy done with instant perfection. If you love the original Star Wars movies, you'll definitely want to click the pic above and get this game.

Gamecube Resident Evil 4 Video Game $20

Nintendo's Gamecube has been languishing in mediocrity and franchises ever since it was released several years ago. It has needed a cutting edge, mature, exclusive game for a long time, and Capcom thankfully delivers with Resident Evil 4. The newest entry in the venerable survival horror series, Resident Evil 4 is a welcomed departure from the usual kiddy fare Gamecube offers.

Resident Evil 4 mostly succeeds because it's so unlike the past Resident Evil games. The problematic controls and limited camera angles that have plagued every installment have been completely redone; the backgrounds are no longer pre-rendered, instead rendered in 3-D, and the camera follows the player with an over-the-shoulder view, much like in Max Payne. Resident Evil 4 is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The inventory system has also been improved. In previous Resident Evil games, you were given a very limited amount of room to store weapons, ammo, and keys. Resident Evil 4 lets you hold almost every item you'll ever need, and it lets you hold unlimited puzzle pieces, treasures, and keys. As a matter of fact, there's so much inventory space, that the infamous "inventory box"-the item storage bin that was always so inconvenient to manage in previous games-doesn't even exist in "Resident Evil 4."

There are many other improvements as well. Numerous save-points abound, so that you'll be able to save every twenty or thirty minutes. Similar to "Halo", checkpoints have been implemented, which makes dying much less frustrating. And, taking a nod from RPGs, you collect money throughout Resident Evil 4, allowing you to buy and upgrade weapons.

The streamlined improvements of Resident Evil 4 are important because they complement the gameplay so well. If the interface hadn't substantially improved over its predecessors, Resident Evil 4 wouldn't succeed as brilliantly as it does.

Resident Evil 4 is like a continuous stream of the best action sequences from movies put into a videogame. Within the first ten minutes, your character, Leon Kennedy, has to fight off dozens of diseased inhabitants of a small European town where the President's daughter has been kidnapped. And for the next twenty hours-by far the longest length of any Resident Evil game-the action never lets up. While this could have been monotonous, fighting enemy after enemy, the pacing is quick and changing, never using the same enemy too many times, and always introducing a new weapon just as an old one is becoming tiresome.

The graphics are the best the Gamecube has to offer. Everything in the game-the characters, the interiors, the weapons, the buildings-is accented by an outstanding lighting system, where shadows respond realistically to muzzle flashes, torches, and flashlights. The outdoor environments are expansive and the indoor environments unique and well-decorated. The character's faces are the most detailed of any current console game.

Resident Evil 4 falters in its plot and voice-acting, but this certainly doesn't detract from the action in any way. Resident Evil has acquired a reputation for campy, over-the-top acting, and Resident Evil 4 is no different. But the excellent pacing and action of Resident Evil 4 make it one of the best titles available on Gamecube.

Legend of Spyro Gamecube Video Game $40

I think this is the best Spyro game yet. The graphics are awesome, the sounds are amazing and the jokes...well the jokes are a little lame, but it's a kids game.

The new melee attacks are very matrix-like which makes this game even more enjoyable. The story is even interesting, which in most games like this are pretty lame. Legend of Spyro is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

To keep it short, if you're a kid, click the pic above and get this game, if you're an adult who likes to play adventure games rent it first then buy it. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

Need for Speed Carbon Gamecube Video Game $40

Every car handles differently, every course is linked together in one massive world, and the controls will take you back to the days of arcade racers like Daytona USA. (Actual arcade racers - the ones with $5,000 cabinets all arcade owners dreaded purchasing.) The customization features are a little shallow, and the game is a little easy. Okay, a lot easy. But you'll love the ride while it lasts, and you're going to want to play through this racer more than once.

The cars look amazing. Every part of them is packed with realistic detail. Even the interiors are noticeably accurate. The cars reflect the city lights quite beautifully, and will do so differently depending on the type of finish that's been applied (chrome, matte, etc.).

Carbon's environments aren't nearly as memorable. The backgrounds aren't that far beyond what was possible with the old Xbox. Also, the cars, as gorgeous as they are, cannot be damaged. They can crash repeatedly, and abolish generic police vehicles. But your vehicles - which are from licensed manufacturers - are as protected as those in Gran Turismo, save for a few scratches every now and then (that magically disappear after every race).

I know that this is what most, not all, automakers want. But if some manufacturers are on board and others are not, maybe it's the supportive companies you should be focusing on - to give the gamer the most intense experience possible. Need for Speed Carbon is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

Hurray for the return of full-motion video! First you get to see the actors, who look toward the camera when talking to the player's character as if you were actually in the story. The actors also appear in polygon form, with extreme realism to boot. Their polygon expressions are a little better than their real expressions, mainly due to the real actors' lack of believability.

The voices - they're better than most, but have a hint of "video game syndrome." It looks like a bunch of actors were hired to be in a video game. It doesn't look or sound like they were hired to be in a professionally written story. Which isn't too surprising. Carbon's characters only have one theme: "take my city and I'll hate you forever" (an exaggerated but truthful interpretation).

Most Career mode races can be won on the first try. The external challenge mode provides additional races to conquer, but they're not enough to boost this game's difficulty.

It's Need For Speed all over again. I'm not about to be one of those crazy people who say the series needs an overhaul to be great again. It doesn't. I love the direction the developers have taken. That said, it's not an original direction, just one of polish. But this series is meant to be a certain way. To make it original again would likely eliminate all the things we love.

Four for co-op; eight for multiplayer via Xbox Live. Some of the Career mode races are playable online as well for added challenges.

A throwback to the good old, worry-free days of arcade racing. This is the kind of game you'll play after seeing The Fast and the Furious (or any other street racing flick). You might hate that series - you might think the third Furious is the worst movie ever made. But mark my words, if you're flipping through and it's on TV, you will drop the remote, grab your controller, and play this game.

Baten Kaitos Origins Gamecube Video Game $40

This game is prequel to one of the best role playing game on the GameCube called Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. Both games have the unique real-time card based combat system. Both games have epic story with amazing twists and great characters. Both games can be considered among the most beautiful games on the GameCube and they both have excellent soundtracks.

Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel to the first game and you really don't need to have played the first one. If you play this fresh you will benefit from the fresh perspective and if you have already played Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean then you will get a different perspective. Baten Kaitos Origins is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

I recommend both games for anybody looking for a great RPG on the GameCube. Both games provide well over 60 hrs of game time.

super smash bros melee - top gamecube games reviewsGamecube Super Smash Bros Melee Video Game $30

Super Smash Bros. Melee. How to sum it up in one word? Amazing! Smash Bros. Melee is the sequel to the N64 version.

All the Nintendo characters (if not, most of them) from the first game make a return. Plus there's a bunch of new characters like Zelda, Princess Peach and the retro characters the Ice Climbers. Also, throw in a handful of extra hidden characters and you got the fighter lineup.

The modes of play are plentiful. There's the original tournament and there's also new modes like the Adventure mode, Coin mode and even a Homerun mode. Smash Bros. was one of the best multiplayer games on the N64. Smash Bros. Melee is no different. You can go up against 3 other CPU controlled characters or even better, get 3 of your friends and you'll have one pretty hectic game. Overall, this game is great for anyone, no matter if you're a newbie to this game or a long time fan.

Few words can describe this game. I think the best word is AMAZING which is why it is one of the top gamecube games reviews.. This game is unlike any other game I have ever played. Although many people would say Gamecube is not worth getting, this and a few other games make these statements opposite. Super Smash Melee is amazing!  Reviews of New Nintendo Gamecube Video Games.

It has 2 single player modes (one classic mode from the original and the other a new adventure mode). In addition it comes with three mini games. Home Run Derby *using the baseball bat item to hit a large tube across a field*, Brake the targets *from the original*, and a game where you fight really bad drones.

But wait! There's more! There is also, like in the original, a multiplayer game! There are MANY new additions in the multiplayer-like tourney mode. Game play isn't the only upgrade from the original. There are now 25 players (14 starters, and 11 hidden). I haven't gotten all of the hiddens, but I have gotten three, and i know of some others. They are as follows: You 1st get Jiggly Puff *i know, argh*, then Luigi *NUBERA ONE!*, and then Dr. Mario *YES! DR. MARIO!*. I have heard rumors that there are other characters like Gandorf from Zelda, and Mewtwo. I'll try to find out the others later.

But it doesn't stop here, oh NO! There are many new items too (like the Zelda bunny ears, and Mr. Saturn). Lastly, there is a new feature. This is the Trophy. You can win, and gamble for them. They're VERY cool. I hope this convinces you to click the pic above and buy the game, because it sure is worth it! Well, this is Mal, signing out!

Gamecube - Lego Star Wars Video Game $20

This GameCube version of Lego Star Wars was released a full six months after the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the game, an odd decision considering the frequently-assumed target audiences of the different consoles. Even so, this delayed port is nevertheless a very solid one, and gamers who have Cubes can click the pic above and pick this one up knowing it looks and plays just as well on this console as it does on the others.

Lego Star Wars is a game that is forgiving enough that children will enjoy it (i.e. a character who gets "killed" is simply resurrected nearby). At the same time, it also has a few challenges that will give adults a share of fun. The game features a VERY large number of unlockables and extras that can only be completed by collecting certain items and collecting large enough numbers of the game's currency (known as bits). Some of the levels are not terribly difficult to beat - but can be challenging to beat with sufficient numbers of bits, some of which are lost when a character dies.

Of note, Lego Star Wars also has an easy-to-use cooperative feature, which is a great deal of fun regardless of the age of the people you are playing with. Lego Star Wars is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The presentation of this game is outstanding. The graphics are beautiful and glossy and portray the "Lego" and the "Star Wars" both wonderfully. The cutscenes are funny and capture well the storyline of the first three episodes even though there is no voice work to speak of. John Williams soundtrack is here and the game even has the appropriate tracks for each level. Hearing that trademark "Darth Maul" anthem during the duel with the Sith is a real treat.

There are only a few drawbacks to the game.

One, it's a bit on the short side - an adult could probably plow through the entire campaign in 6-8 hours. That being said, each level has hidden items and unlockables that are only accessible after you've beaten that level in the regular story mode, so there is a lot of incentive to go back.

Two, a couple of the levels might actually be a bit hard for kids, such as the pod racing level... perhaps all the more reason for an adult to sit down and enjoy the game with them. :)

Finally, a couple of the platforming sequences have some odd camera angles that can result in excessive deaths the first time through, but this is less of a hassle considering the fact that it's impossible to die completely in the game.

Overall, though, this is one of those unusual games that is easily recommendable to both older Star Wars fans and younger kids... and is all the better if your household has both!

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Gamecube Video Game $30

This game is the best Mario Kart in the series. From its colorful 3D graphics to its awesome multi player features. This game's got all you want in a racing game.

The biggest change is that you can have 2 players in a kart at the same time and choose the car you want. Each pair of players has a special item that only the two of them can use like Yoshi and Birdo's egg or Baby Mario and Baby Luigi's giant chain chomp.

The characters that you can use are as follows: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Birdo, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Koopa, Paratroopa, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and the unlockables: Toad, Toadette, King Boo and Petey Piranha.

One of the coolest new features is the unlockables. You can unlock different courses, characters and cars. This adds a brand new twist to the series.

The courses are amazing. Travel through sandy beaches, dry deserts, rainforests and a lot more. Beautiful 3d graphics create the awesome scenery. Mario Kart Double Dash is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

I agree with the kid that said this was "Hands down the best racing game ever!". It's more than a racing game, it's an all out road war. If the other racers don't get you the obstacles on each track will.

Mushroom Kingdom's favorite foes like Goomba's, Piranha Plant's, Pokey's and many more are waiting around every turn. There are a number of weapons that you can put to use against your opponents.. like turtle shells, bombs, banana peels, large spiked King Koopa shells, fire, explosive boxes and more. There are also mushrooms that give you that extra boost of speed that can sometimes help you win the race at the last minute. Not to mention the famous speed boosters that are on each track.

The tracks are great, they're "Super Mario Sunshine" themed. I recommend that game highly as well. There are some tracks that are not "Sunshine" themed however. I recall one track that traffics regular and not-so regular vehicles, these cars and trucks will slow you down if you don't stay clear of them. I did notice some people say this game isn't much more advanced than "Mario Kart 64", don't believe such bologna. This game blows "Mario Kart 64" out of the water.

Just in case you haven't played this yet, you may wanna know where the subtitle "Double Dash" comes from. That's simple you are able to choose two characters that race together. The combination is up to you. For instance you can team Mario with Bowser if you like, or you can be traditional and put the Mario Bros. together.

My choice last time I played was Koopa and Wario. An odd team but that gives you an idea of your options. One character drives while the other is equipped with an array of weapons (mentioned above), with the press of a button they are able to switch jobs. There are unlockable characters and tracks, but you do start off with a wide variety.

Bottomline is, I really believe you won't find a better racing game. It's not Nascar and there's not a woman in a bikini that waves a checkered flag, but I recommend it fully based on hundreds of hours in replay value, beautiful graphics, user friendly controls, and Nintendo's timeless characters.

"MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH" IS A GREAT GAME TO ADD TO YOUR GAMECUBE INVENTORY.

Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 Gamecube Video Game $40

The sequel game to the original Naruto Clash of Ninja has everything the original game had and tons more. The story mode includes all the story from the first game with new improved presentation and then continues much further (30 chapters).

It has over 20 characters that are much more diverse. It has a great multiplayer handicap option where you spend between 1-5 points for a total of 5 to use different powerups. Powerups range from stuff like more damage power to disabling certain opponent attack.

Best handicap option for any fighter I know of. Other fighters just give you a scale and then it just reduces the amount of damage you take but Naruto 2 has a much innovative handicap option. Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

It also supports up to 4-player fights and for single player aside from the longer story has all kind of options like time attack, survival, score, etc.

And it has the same great Naruto gameplay that made the first game a commercial success.

Madden NFL 07 Gamecube Video Game $40

The Hall of Fame mode rocks! Being able to create a character, go through the draft, and work towards making the HOF is an absolutely great addition. You can create any position and play the game from their perspective.

The part I enjoy is knowing you actually have to WORK to get a decent spot. There's no "you're the player, so you're going to get a starting spot."

The lead blocking feature is great. Being able to open up a hole in the defense and then switch to the ball carrier to race through it is great. Madden NFL 07 is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

One issue I have is that your HOF mode influence is impacted by the hits and misses of your teammates. It's not too fun seeing your influence drop because the WR has butterfingers or your offensive line is made of tissue paper.

GameCube Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness Video Game $30

Pokemon XD is one of those games that would be good if we didn't know there could be something better. It's basically a refit of Pokemon Coliseum with a few updates and a new story. Which is good, right? Well, if you like Coliseum, yes. Then it's great. If not ... well, you still might have issues.

The idea of shadow pokemon is, to put it bluntly, gimmicky and annoying. The purification process still takes far too long, and catching only certain pokemon from trainers (which sounds cool) exists only because of the major flaw that exists in this game.

Once again, you can not battle wild Pokemon, like in the Game Boy versions. That means no catching them in the wild, and (my biggest issue) no battling wild pokemon for experience. Instead, you have to fight trainers, and these battles are long and frustrating. Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

I hate to say it, but Pokemon is the kind of game where grinding through dozens of quick, wild pokemon battles is an integral part of the game. Having to fight the harder, longer trainers for experience that in the end is not proportionately higher as to make it worth it, makes the experience nothing short of boring.

It makes me sad, because if a game was perfectly translated from Game Boy to Gamecube, it would be wonderful and entertaining. The story in this is better than any Pokemon before, and the areas beautiful. It's just those 'improvements' in the battle system that spoil it for me.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Gamecube Video Game $20

This game, simply put, is amazing. I was skeptical at first when I saw the cel-shaded graphics. Believe me when I say the screenshots do not do this game justice. The lighting, the frame rate, the textures and the animation all combine to make the BEST looking game this side of Metroid Prime or Halo.

The art style fits this type of game perfectly. If you were to look back at the art of the original Zelda game on NES, you would be astounded by the similarities. The graphics add to the game in such a way you would never expect. Stuck in a dungeon? Swing the camera around and take a look at where Link's beautifully animated eyes are pointed. Want to know which direction the wind is blowing? Look at Link's hat blowing in the proper direction.

That brings me to another topic. The facial animations are second to none. Okay, now don't laugh, but there will be times when you literally laugh out loud, or feel like crying. The game is that good at connecting with you. But enough about the graphics. Legend of Zelda Wind Waker is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The sound effects and musical tracks in this game quite simply blew me away. After my first day of playing this game I found myself humming to several of the overworld themes. With a few exceptions (Link makes an annoying sound when he crawls) the sound effects are great. The grunts, bonks, sword clashes and water splashes all sound like they should.

The staple of the Zelda series has always been gameplay, and the Wind Waker has it in spades. The gameplay is quite similar to Ocarina of Time as far as control. The dungeons are fun and some of the puzzles are very clever. The game doesn't seem to be quite as difficult as Ocarina, but as a whole it is longer.

I would like to personally congratulate the person who decided you would be sailing in a boat. From the first moment I was sailing the high seas there was a huge grin on my face. It still may be there, as a matter of fact.

The game world consists of a 7x7 matrix of squares. Each square has at least one island, and it takes a minute or two to sail the distance of just ONE square. You can start to get an idea of just how expansive this game is. Not unlike every other Zelda game, there are side and optional quests to keep you playing long after you have conquered your last dungeon.

If you own a Gamecube, it would be a shame if you didn't own a copy of this game. And if you don't have a Gamecube, this game alone would be worth the price. If you look at this game and its cel-shaded graphics and dismiss it as "kiddie" or "dumb" maybe you should grow up yourself.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure Gamecube Video Game $30

The first Super Monkey Ball was a surprisingly fun game. SMB 2 was an even better follow-up, with bigger, faster levels and more party games. With such a good track record, I clicked the pic above and picked up SMB Adventure the day it came out. I wish I hadn't.

The idea behind Adventure is, on the surface, a good one: the traditional (and challenging) courses of SMB have now been integrated with a true story mode, where you have to help other monkeys complete tasks in order to save the Monkey Kingdom. Super Monkey Ball Adventure is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

Unfortunately, the game itself is truly frustrating. To begin with, the load time for each level - and even within the levels - is excruciatingly slow. Once inside, you must find various monkeys who will give you your tasks. While some of these challenges are quite fun, their setup is annoying. For the most part, tasks must be performed in a certain order, so if you are having difficulty with one, you cannot simply skip ahead to a different one.

In addition, if you die ("fall out") during a task, you do not get the option of automatically retrying the mission; instead, you have to find the monkey and have him explain it to you all over again. Finally - and most importantly - Adventure has wasted the monkey ball courses that were so good in the previous games. Although the courses in Adventure are important - they open up doorways to different parts of the levels - the game is so frustrating that the courses seem more like chores here. All of the fun has been sucked out of completing the courses.

If you do not want to play them in Story mode, you can try your hand at all of the individual courses in Challenge mode. Once again, however, this section is a disappointment. There are beginner, advanced, and expert modes, but you do not have the ability to choose individual courses, whether you have beaten them or not.

Adventure's party games are a redeeming factor. The ability to buy new characters to use is a great feature. The racing game is truly fun, and the option of racing against extra computer monkeys can create glorious mayhem on the track. Target is again an excellent game, as is fight. Cannon would be much more fun if there was not an automatic AI player (for games with fewer than four human players). Tag is a so-so game. Bounce is pointless.

All in all, SMB Adventure is a thoroughly disappointing game. Sega tried to fix what wasn't broken, and it came out much worse in the end.

One Piece: Pirates' Carnival Gamecube Video Game $30

If you enjoy mini-game multiplayer fun like the Mario Party series, then One Piece Pirates' Carnival will be right up your alley.

Where Mario Party has a main board with a "path" like Life or CandyLand, in Pirates' Carnival your main board is a grid, more like Othello. You're trying to turn squares to your color and capture as many as you can.

In order to win a given square, you have to play a mini-game. This is quite fun in a situation where other people are around to play with, or you can play against the computer to hone your skills. You can choose to play as a variety of male or female characters.

If you're playing against the computer, you can even set the difficulty level of each of the 3 other players. So you can start with them all on easy, and slowly work your way up with some easy and some harder. One Piece Pirates' Carnival is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The mini-games are pretty fun, and involve the One Piece crew. You can slide around in a ring trying to bash each other out, sort of a cross between Sumo rules and sliding samurai sensibilities. Other games involve dodging missiles, racing, and other traditional mini-game tasks.

The graphics are reasonably good here, with rippling water, cel shaded graphics and characters from the series. The sounds match up well with the series, which depending on how fond you are of the US version, could be a good or bad thing.

Because the game is fun multiplayer, and because you can ramp up the difficulty based on your own skills, the game can be played pretty much forever. There's always a new challenge in the game. Unlike the path-based games like Mario Party, the strategic challenges of the main board here are great for building up logic skills.

Now, there's the caveat that if you don't enjoy Mario Party style mini-games, you probably won't enjoy this either. It's not a long, epic story. It doesn't involve complex keystrokes to trounce an enemy. However, if you're up for light arcadey fun, and have friends you can hang out with for a few hours, definitely give Pirates' Carnival a try.

Star Fox Assault Gamecube Video Game $20

Star Fox Assault is a very good game. After avoiding disaster on Dinosaur Planet, a new threat has been detected and is rapidly spreading across the Lylat System. The Star Fox team has been asked to destroy this threat. Fox McCloud, Slippy Toad, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Krystal combine to form Team Star Fox.

Story Mode: The main mode in Star Fox: Assault is Story mode. You can choose to play on Bronze, Silver, or Gold difficulties. There are 10 missions to complete. However, it only takes a couple hours to defeat, making it too short.

The three modes of transportation are Arwing, Landmaster, and On-foot. The Arwing controls are good, the Landmaster controls are pretty good, but not as good as the Arwing, and the On-foot controls can be a bit frustrating. Certain actions, such as turning around and moving backward are slow and can be frustrating. Also, in most of the missions, you can move all around and use different modes of transportation instead of just moving forward. Star Fox Assault is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

As you beat certain missions, you'll unlock them for play in multiplayer. You'll also unlock other things for multiplayer by playing story mode. If you beat story mode, you can go back and play each individual mission and get better scores. You can also play survival mode, which is story mode without any saving. In addition to that, you can unlock a game called Xevious. It's a classic shooting game by Namco, and can be unlocked by collecting all the silver badges, and accessed by going to the main menu and going to the Bonus Game tab.

Vs. Mode: The Vs. mode is pretty good. 2-4 players can choose teams, characters, a set of rules, weapons, a battlefield, and modes of transportation. Many things can be unlocked by completing a certain amount of Vs. Mode games, such as weapons, stages, and the Wolfen (the vehicle that Team Star Wolf uses). The only thing I don't like about Vs. Mode is that you can't play against computer players. If that was possible, I'd play it all the time.

Many people were disappointed though. Many people were expecting a game with almost all missions using the Arwing, just like Star Fox 64. Instead, you have to use the Landmaster and go on-foot sometimes. I think that it was good that Namco mixed it up a bit. I would have liked the game better if it had more than 10 missions. It only took me a short time to beat it on two difficulties, and almost everyone would like more missions with Arwing.

Overall, I think that Star Fox: Assault is a great game.

Open Season Gamecube Video Game $30

ok this game is good. the only thing i was disappointed with was maybe it could have been more...interactive?

I mean it's great that you don't have to worry about falling off a tree when crossing a river but then it ruins the precise timing that was in other games i played but the part with the hunters is great!!

i don't think it could annoy little kids TOO bad but the only thing i don't like is walking past a window and BOOM!!! the hunter shoots you!! Open Season is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

you can fight people by roaring, skunk bombs, bear traps, campfires or throwing them over the cliffs OR just picking them up and throwing them around the area for a few seconds.

and then the puzzles...ok they're nothing like guess what's in a box before time runs out or anything like that but they're mostly "sneak behind the hunter and grab him before he sees you." this is impossible there's a 50/50 chance he'll catch you but unlike any hunter I've seen before he says "what the? a bear!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" ok i don't know if a hunter would say that but why would a bear sneak behind you anyway???

Pac Man World Rally Gamecube Video Game $30

It seems with all the hype on  systems from the Playstation 3, and the Nintendo's Wii, we sometimes often anticipate and forget about how influential the classic games really are. We often enjoy and recognize characters like Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog as definitive mascots who've constantly changed and stayed relevant with the times, always appealing to newer audiences.

Nevertheless, there are those who've unfortunately been forgotten. That has been the case with Pac Man. Since his debut in the1980's, a lot of us have enjoyed him as the classic muncher who had never stopped gobbling his way into our hearts. After several reincarnations to making Pac Man popular today, they haven't been as enjoyable as his classic days. Now, another one comes out to our hearts, in the form of the race.

Pac Man World Rally for the Nintendo Gamecube, tries to tackle itself, as more like a knockoff of the Mario Kart games from Nintendo, and the recent Sonic Riders air board racer from Sega. The object of the game is simple, you have to outmaneuver your character into taking the checked flag to win. Pac Man World Rally is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

In this game, you can play Pan Man himself, the looney and zany ghosts Inky, Binky, and Clyde, or other classics too. The graphics of the game are really eye-opening, and deliver well on the Gamecube, while the control is very easy to pickup for die hard racers, and those who are familiar with the Mario Kart atmospheres.

There is though one disadvantage with the game, it is just too easy to beat. Although it is fun, many racers might want to consider something a bit more challenging.

All in all, if you are a die hard Pac Man fan, you'll love this game for the Nintendo Gamecube. If you aren't interested, you might want to consider this one as rental. Even though it isn't a definitive Gamecube addition to your library, at least it makes up for the problems and the lackluster earlier Pac Man games that've tried to shine but flopped like Pac Man World 3 did.

Monster House Gamecube Video Game $30

this game is totally fun. I give it 4/5 stars. I don't give it 5/5 because it does not have enough bad monsters.

the surprises make the player pay attention at all times, and battle and dodge pipes, chairs, vases, lamps, ect. Monster House is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

my brother has been playing video games for about 8 years, and he has to do level the basement 3 times to go to the next level. he also has to do level 7: escape! 4 times to pass a level.

animal crossing - top gamecube games reviews Gamecube Animal Crossing Video Game $20

Ah - Animal Crossing. Where to start?

Well... it all starts when you're riding on a train, heading out into the world for the first time. A blue-and-white cat by the name of Rover walks up to you and asks you if it's some ridiculous time, such as May 30, 2030, 2:41 am. Unless that's somehow right, you'll tell him he's wrong and he'll ask you the real date and time.

Once you tell him, he sits next to you and engages in conversation. Eventually he asks you your name and where you're going. Once you tell him you don't know where you'll be living, he calls a friend in the town you're heading for and gets you a house.

When you get to the town, you are greeted by a monkey porter. After you walk down the steps, a rather pudgy raccoon runs up to you, introducing himself as Tom Nook. He shows you a group of four shabby, tiny houses, and you will be allowed to choose one. When you are asked to pay, it is revealed that you have - not nearly enough!

And so it begins. Nook asks you to work part-time for him for a while, and then are free to pay off the rest of the debt on your own by doing favors for your neighbors, fishing, selling fruit, et cetera.

Oh, yes - your neighbors. You'll start out with five or six animal neighbors. They all have different voices, personalities, and "catch phrases" (such as: I have a duck named Deena who says "sugarbill" at the end of most of her sentences). If you aren't nice to them, they will mostly be mean to you and even insult you. You can do favors, be quizzed, and trade furniture with them. Once you start visiting other towns, more animals will move in until you fill up to fifteen of them.

There's also holidays. On your birthday, a neighbor will bring you a gift, plus a batch of them will arrive in the mail from all your neighbors. At the Harvest Festival (their version of Thanksgiving), you must steal the knives and forks to help out the main course, a rather frantic turkey.

It would really take far to long to describe everything in detail. Animal Crossing is included in the top gamecube games reviews.  You can run errands, fish, catch bugs, dig for fossils or treasure or even money, shop at Nook's (which eventually upgrades as far as Nookington's Department Store, run with the help of two adorable twins named Tommy and Timmy), upgrade your house, decorate, gossip with your neighbors, write letters, send presents to your neighbors, request songs from Tokakeke (or K.K. Slider, as he prefers to be called on Saturday nights, when he plays by the train station), listen to music, change the 'town tune,' and much, much, more.

Said the walking endorsement for Animal Crossing.

The only reason I bought this game was because I heard I could play a whole bunch of classic NES games and even transfer them to my Gameboy Advance. I was a bit annoyed by the first hour or so of play as I was required to name and create a town and character. After that, however, I became interested in the variety of activities I could participate in (besides just playing old NES games). By the time Halloween came and all the characters dressed-up as Jack O'Lanterns and asked me for candy, I was amazed at the amount of fun I was having simply living in this world, which I called Europa.

That's when my 3 year-old decided she needed to start playing. Within a day or two, she had mastered the (mostly icon-based) interface. It was fascinating watching how she enjoyed playing the game - not by any means I would've thought. The first week she loved shaking trees looking for treats. The 2nd week, collecting shells and selling them to Tom Nook was her favorite.

After that she went into phases of planting flowers everywhere to chopping down pear trees (they're not as pretty as cherries). She was playing in Europa alongside my character. What she did impacted my game experience and we loved sending letters (with presents attached) back and forth to each other.

Then, my wife decided she was interested enough to look at it (for once, she actually looked at a video game).

Soon, the three of us played the game on a daily basis and talked about it when we weren't playing. The combination of time-based events and small surprises in almost every play session makes this something that people want to talk about.

Best game I've played this year.

NGC CarsCars Gamecube Video Game $30

It seems like a national law these days that a movie must have a video game tie-in. X-Men had its official game, and even The Da Vinci Code got a video game. Usually when this happens, the game tends to be mediocre. A waste of the license. Other times it's a cash in for the franchise. Then, of course, there's the fact that the developers of these games, for some reason, never give it their all.

Cars is another video game tie in to the movie, yet for all its worth, this is one that's actually pretty good. It still suffers from some of the "movie gone video-game" trends such as bugs in the game, which usually comes because the game is rushed out to meet the release date of the film. Still, for what it's worth, Cars manages to be a good game after all.

The game actually takes place after the movie, something that doesn't normally happen when a video-game tie-in is done. Still, it's pretty nice. The good news is you needn't see the film in order to play the game. You don't even have to have heard of the film. The game is all about the racing. Lightning is gearing up to beat his rival Chick Hicks. That's all there is to it.

The gameplay at first carries out much like Grand Theft Auto. You get to roam around Radiator Springs, doing missions. Most of them consist of racing, and the racing actually isn't so bad. However, also like Grand Theft Auto, you've got to complete a set of missions before another set becomes available. You'll also, of course, be able to free-roam. Cars is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

Racing makes up the bulk of the game. It's no Gran Turismo 4, but it is, for the most part, a lot of fun. Your objective is to simply win, of course, and there are pit stops along the way, which you'll have to work fast to get yourself back out there, or risk losing your position. It's pretty much like playing a racing game. You can power slide and boost, although you won't really need it during the races themselves and they can be a pain to control sometimes.

Racing is easy. The games races are disturbingly easy at first sight. The AI of your opponents is predictable, and there were even cases where my opponents actually slowed down to give me a boost. So it's not by any means a challenging game. It gets harder, but not to the point where you'll find yourself losing races. By the time it actually feels competitive, the game is over.

There are also mini-games here. A lot of the time when games do this they feel tacked on. Not here. Not only are some games necessary to progress further, but they're actually fun. The mini-games presented are for more than just wasting time. There's more of a point to them than in your average game. The pit stop game, for example, is a mini-game where you have to get your car back on the road in the fastest time possible.

The game also has two difficulty levels. The standard and one that's easier for kids. The standard is already easy enough, but the kids version is even easier. As you might expect, the easier difficulty is kid-friendly. Even your child might want to skip over playing the game in this mode. There aren't as many missions, and the already easy races are easier.

Cars is a game that looks fantastic. All the models look almost exactly like they do in the film. They're vibrant and detailed the way you expect them to be. The game just looks great. There are bugs, however. Such as you being able to get stuck in the environment and so you'll find yourself having to wait for the game to reset you back to where you want to be. These glitches are, thank goodness, few and far between. Most of the time you'll be able to get yourself out.

As far as a game based off a movie goes, Cars makes the best use of its voice cast. All the stars who supplied their voices in the film are here, and they do a fantastic job with their respective roles. This is an all star cast and it works. Those who saw the film and enjoyed it, will absolutely love the voice work in this game. The audio itself is also really good. Big name music artists supply the majority of the audio.

This is one of the better video-game tie ins. The gameplay is sharp, and it sounds and looks good. It suffers a little from bugs, but not so much that it takes away from the gameplay. It's by no means a hard game, and it isn't long either, but while the gameplay lasts, it's fantastic.

SIMPSONS: HIT AND RUN Gamecube Video Game $20

This is the first Simpson's game that is any good. It's very amusing with a lot of Simpsons related humor involved. The graphics are excellent 3D renditions of the 2D versions.

Springfield town looks fabulous and driving through, knocking over people is excellent (but harmless) fun. Characters fall in ragdoll style and shout insults. Too much mayhem results in a police chase.

The game is based around a series of GTA style missions. These are varied, reasonably challenging but not too difficult and fun. There are plenty of hidden elements and the replay value is very high. Simpsons Hit and Run is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

When figuring out the controls I was stood in front of an old lady (I think it was Principal Skinner's mother). I pressed the red button only to hear Homer shout 'take that' and kick her hard enough for her to collapse on the floor. It was so funny. I proceeded to go and find Flanders and kick him up and down the street.

Contains all of your favorite characters. I love this game.

NGC Major League Baseball 2K6Major League Baseball 2K6 Gamecube Video Game $20

THE ONLY BASEBALL GAME THAT MATTERS

Well, for the past three years, I have been using EA Sports' "MVP Baseball 2004-2005". I was always pleased with these games and I thought they couldn't get any better. This new game produced by 2K Sports, "Major League Baseball 2K6" is a new experience worth the while. After several release delays, I finally got my hands on one to rent. I was pleased by many new features, while some things I was not at happy about. There are many features that this game has that no one has ever seen.

First, let's start with the graphics. The graphics are no where near the caliber that EA Sports provided, but are fine quality. The faces are still pretty close to real-life. Second, the gameplay is much more realistic. The dives, jumps, throws, and gameplay action are much more like those seen in the big leagues. The batting sequences are much more better suited to the players represented in the game. Each player's own personality is built into their own swing, running style, and fielding style.

The pitching features are PHENOMENAL! The new "INSIDER'S EDGE" featurette is incredible. Like real-life, the catcher will make the calls of what pitch he wants in which location based on the batter's strengths and weaknesses. That makes this game more close to real-life than anything ever seen before. The pitching styles are much more accurate to the real-life counterparts too. Major League Baseball 2K6 is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

What I really like about this game is how much the gameplay and difficulty is much closer to real-life. For example, in MVP Baseball 2005, I would have the difficulty set to the highest, "MVP" and the statistic numbers were complete fantasy. At the All-star break, half of my players would have 100+ RBIS and my pitchers would be 13-2 with a 1.50 ERA. In this game it is a challenge, which I have been looking for.

There is a setting in the game that makes the game even more challenging. I believe it is called "Dynamic difficulty." So if you are pitching and start giving up hits after hits, the computer will start rallying, just like any team would in real life, because the computer gets an adrenaline boost in a sense.

If you want a game as close to real-life as possible, this is the game you want. I am very pleased with this game and am a proud owner of 2K Sports' "Major League Baseball 2K6."

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody GameCube Video Game $40

Despite this game being hailed as the greatest in the series to date, Magical Melody has its share of problems. Harvest Moon Magical Melody is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

But first, the pros:
- addictive (if you can bear not leaving the house for a few weeks, then this game offers everything you need)
- goal-driven (much better in this area than previous HM titles, you will find yourself constantly saving up for the next house upgrade, furniture installment, musical note, or friendly barn animal)
- festivals (there's more of them, but... more on that later)
- mini-games (at last, we can take a more interactive part in races!)
- fun (it just plain is)

cons:
- framerate?? (how can a game this graphically simple have lagging issues? if GC titles like RE4 and PoP can pull off their stunning visuals without much choppiness, than MM should be capable of the same)
- lack of cutscenes (I really missed heart events, and the random, cute but very weird scenes between villagers present in almost every other HM title)
- controls (certainly not as bad as some, picking up things can be more trouble than its worth, and the camera angles can be difficult, despite the nice transparency of objects in the foreground)
- festivals (some are done really well, like the horse races when you can actually race, but most feel like obligatory breaks from your average day that get old about the second time through. I would have liked to have seen a mini game for nearly every festival, and I certainly miss dancing)

other thoughts:
I would have liked to have seen more variation in conversations with townspeople instead of the cheap, 'I'll keep saying the same things over and over again until you finally bribe me with expensive gifts' ploy. I was hoping for a ton of cutscenes, even random and stupid ones. They would have broken up the monotony. The framerate issues near Jamie and Blue Sky Ranch are pretty much not cool at all.

In the end, this is a fun game and I will recommend it, but I guess I see a lot more to improve upon before this game is declared best in the series... in my opinion that accolade still rests with the 64 version (or maybe its spin off on the playstation).

Karaoke Rev Party Bundle Gamecube Video Game $40

One of my favorites!!! The game is as good as its song list, which is (too) varied and has something for everyone. If you own "Dance Dance Revolution", you can sing and dance at the same time, which is challenging. Alternatively, you sing and your partner does the dancing. It is fun to create and design the characters too. Karaoke Rev Party Bundle is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

Paper Mario 2 The Thousand Year Door Gamecube Video Game $20

If you played Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64, or the more recent Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on the Game Boy Advance, you've probably been counting the days until the release of Nintendo's Mario role-playing game.

The Thousand-Year Door contains the same simple and addictive mechanics, and is one of the best RPGs to ever hit the GameCube. The story of The Thousand-Year Door begins with a letter Mario receives from Princess Peach containing a mysterious map. Peach invites Mario on a treasure hunt, then manages to get herself kidnapped (again).

As Mario, the player has to get her back (again). Using the treasure map to find clues on her location, players embark on a traveling quest, looking for special items, and unlocking new areas. At various points, you switch control of characters, playing as Peach herself, and even a certain large green chap with terribly bad breath. Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

For those who haven't played either Paper Mario or Superstar Saga, this game will initially seem odd. It's an RPG, but incorporates plenty of simple arcade-like elements from the classic Super Mario series. The game takes full advantage of its flat-yet-3D paper theme, folding Mario on command; he can glide across gaps as a paper airplane, or turn sideways and fit through narrow openings. You occasionally bump into enemies that send you into turn-based battles; however, reflexes and timing play as critical a role as character's stats.

By skillfully tapping the right buttons on cue, you can add damage to your attacks, execute special moves, and even dodge enemy strikes. With experience, players can learn to get through lengthy battles without taking a scratch. The venue for combat is rather different too, as all combat takes place on a stage.

If you do well, fans come to see you compete. Win the audience over and they'll toss power-ups to you, and their cheers will recharge your energy. If you make slow decisions, perform badly, or are just unlucky, the audience will throw rocks at you. You can also add extra stylistic flairs to your attacks that don't inflict additional damage, but do get the crowd roaring... well, as much as a crowd full of Toads and Koopa Troopas can roar.

There's a clean-cut, effective visual style used throughout the game that would be called "charming" in a children's novel. Characters are flat sprites; sometimes single sheets with no depth and other times multiple sprites connected together to create simple 3D shapes. Buildings and rooms unfold like a pop-up book.

While the game doesn't exactly show off the GameCube's power, it looks brilliant, full of bright, well-drawn animated characters. Music is largely a blend of fresh tunes and remixed, retro Nintendo music -- they still work! The only real flaw is a number of conversations between characters that go on too long, dragging the usually fast-paced game to a screeching halt. But, those moments are far outshined by the greatness elsewhere.

Though it's just an evolution of Superstar Saga and Paper Mario before it, The Thousand-Year Door feels 100 percent fresh and entertaining. The occasionally complicated button maneuvering that caused a little frustration on the GBA is replaced with much more approachable gameplay. While this isn't a hardcore title, the puzzles and numerous battles will keep serious gamers busy for some time. Paper Mario is easy to play, exceptional fun, and a thoroughly engaging title.

Game Cube Over The Hedge Video Game $40

A pretty good video game version of 'Over The Hedge'. Nice looking graphics, decent voice acting, and some great 'Mario Party' type mini games. Two characters are on the screen at once... you press the 'Z' button to change between characters. If you have a 2nd controller - two people can play at once. If not, the other character follows you around and helps.

My son does a pretty good job separating the good from the bad. Even though he is only 6, he can point out a crap game within the first few minutes of playing. His favorites are Pikmin 2, Mario Sunshine, Lego Star Wars, Rez, Katamari, Monkey Ball... he told me he likes this game as much as the above mentioned. Over the Hedge is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

This game is rated E 10+... my son is 6 and is having no problems with the game. He has not asked for my help once...

Rampage: Total Destruction GameCube Video Game $20

If you're looking for a mindless, fun way to spend a few hours, Rampage is perfect. You take on a monster's personality and bash away at buildings!

We've always loved the rampage series and this latest release builds on the fun. You start out with only a few monster options - looking suspiciously like Godzilla, King Kong and so on - but there are a TON of unlockable monsters of all shapes and sizes. You start out in Las Vegas, meaning that the levels have cool hotel areas looking like a castle, a pirate ship, and so on. I wonder what those could be?

There isn't a plot here. You are simply a monster out to cause as much destruction as you can. You jump up and down on top of buildings, you kick over cars, you smash windows and you eat the fleeing people. There's a lot of humor involved. In one level your task is to eat 10 mimes - and you watch them "walk against the wind"! Rampage Total Destruction is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

The graphics are reasonably good here - when you jump in the water, it ripples and splashes. The background stretches for multiple blocks, so you get a sense that this is a "larger world" that you are destroying. Still, it's true to its arcade roots - really you are just moving left and right.

The sounds follow the same arcadey basics. You get basic bashing noises, a classic soundtrack and silly comments by the people you are eating.

I did find some of the "placement" issues troubling. I would think I was lined up to kick a car, but I'd miss it. I'd see a banana in a window and try to get myself exactly lined up to grab it, but somehow I'd miss. The game used to be about wild bashing and thrashing, but now you have to be right on target in order to hit.

Still, it was only a minor complaint, and in general the vast selection of monsters and locations really make up for it. Perfect for killing a few hours in a relaxing, mindless way!

Game Cube X-Men 3: The Official Video Game $35

Not always is a game based off a movie bad. There really are some good ones out there. However, there are some that truly are bad and should be avoided. X-Men: The Official Game is that game. The game overall is pretty poor. The developers didn't seem to take it seriously. The game is meant to connect the second X-Men movie with the third one. Unfortunately, the game just reeks of bad quality. Perhaps if it had spent more time in development, the game could've been good. Instead it's rather bland.

The game begins with a training mission with each character. This is simply to get you adjusted to the gameplay mechanics. Later on you'll come to see these training missions are just a waste of time. Playing the game is already simple as can be. Afterwards, you go back to Alkali Lake as Nightcrawler and recover parts of Cerebro. Afterwards you'll be given a choice between which scenario you want.

Throughout the entire game you'll only get to play as three characters. Wolverine, Iceman or Nightcrawler. Each of them have their own abilities, and their own scenarios. Once you pick one character, you're stuck with them until their scenario is over. You won't really run into the other playable characters a lot, though. Neither are the scenarios very hard or exciting. X-Men 3 The Official Video Game is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

X-Men is pretty much a simple beat 'em up game, with little bits and pieces of story thrown in for good measure. The story isn't really impressive, though. It's hard to follow, and the game doesn't put an emphasis on it. What voice acting there is isn't so bad. At least the voices that come from the stars of the film. You'll recognize them instantly. Those who aren't voiced by celebrities don't sound all that great. The story also unfolds mostly through storyboards rather than cinematics.

But what emphasis there is on gameplay is simplistic and mediocre. All you've got to do is beat people up. You might have to open a door or something, but that's about it. It isn't that the game is a beat 'em up that frustrates me. It's that there's nothing more to it than button mashing. And there aren't a lot of combos to perform either. As I said, it's simplistic.

Outside of beating up your enemies, you may have to teleport as Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler does have a healing ability, and so does Iceman, but I'm quite sure they didn't have one before. Iceman's levels are a little more interesting than the others, seeing as how his are constantly moving along. The bulk of the game, however, is simply beating up your enemies. And as I mentioned, there isn't a whole lot of variety to beating them up.

There are moments when the game can be hard. Well, frustrating actually. The game doesn't provide a lot of difficulty, but it does provide you with having to charge at your enemies head on to--you guessed it--beat them up. You'll have to run through bullets to get to most of them, and that can be a little annoying.

Boss fights aren't really exciting either. Those consist of you performing a simple little dash and hit sort of pattern most of the time. They have predictable patterns and don't really do a whole lot to get you. Again, this makes the game rather easy.

Where the game really hits a low point are the graphics. The game certainly looks good, but there are some glitches that might make you question the graphics. For example, you can knock an enemy into a wall and they'll get stuck there, unable to get out of it, and unable to damage you. Sometimes enemies will pop up out of nowhere and there's no explanation. If these sorts of things only happened once or twice, I wouldn't mind. But they don't. They happen numerous times and constantly. The game looks good at least. Nothing noteworthy, there are plenty of games that look better, but this game doesn't look bad at all.

It's also rather annoying that the character selection is only limited to three characters. There could've been more characters than just Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Iceman. They each play a little differently, but they're the only three characters. That's rather disappointing.

This is nothing more than a Cash Cow game. It's nothing but a beat 'em up game with little variety. If it had spent more time in development, it probably would've been a better experience overall. There are better games out there. Ones with a bit more quality than this. I can't recommend this one. Not at all.

Gamecube - Mario Party 7 Video Game $46

The past few years have really shown that Nintendo has come a real long way with their highly acclaimed video game series for the Gamecube. Yet out of all of them, none of them has ever been as interactive as the Mario Party franchise.

Since its debut for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, it has arguably been a well-recognized institution that has still gotten better with age. The last one, Mario Party 6 was arguably one of the best editions ever, with the interactive voice recognition of the microphone to the mix. Now, the question that is asked is that could Nintendo develop a better Mario Party than before? Here is the answer.

Mario Party 7 for the Nintendo Gamecube, really shows a whole lot of growth from the previous Mario Party games, by placing Mario and company into a imaginative around the world cruise, where each of the games are parodies of exotic locations like Windmillville for Holland, and the Grand Canal is to Venice, Italy.

The game also highlights over 80 different mini-games like Take Me Ohm and Bubble Brawl and Tunnel Of Lava, and some of them by using as many as eight different players to the test. The game also has even more unlockables including 2 characters, Birdo and the return of Dry Bones who had a comeback with Mario Baseball recently, and unique games as well. Mario Party 7 is included in the top reviews of the top new Nintendo Gamecube video games.

Mario Party 7 also does do a whole lot more by placing nearly a dozen more games with the microphone to the test with memory and racing games to, as well which comes with the game, which people who've bought the previous Mario Party 6 know isn't a must but for those who didn't get it is.

Yet, with all the improvements, there is one disadvantage to the test, and that is the solo mode. Unlike Mario Party 6 where the solo mode you could play all the different various games, you only have a limited number of games you can play with like the duel mini-games, the bowser and DK games, and the mic-games, which is unfortunate. Also, you have to tackle certain number of challenges which can be confusing to conquer and takes awhile, but it is worth the effort to play.

All in all, Mario Party 7 is a premiere title and is really a must have for anybody who owns a Gamecube. Although this might be the last Mario Party for this system, considering Nintendo's interest in their upcoming revolution system, it truly is worth the effort of this dice.

BUY THE GAMECUBE CONSOLE

Nintendo Gamecube Console Platinum $100

IF the GameCube had only been able to play DVDs/CDs and a better online service the GameCube would have sold more GUARANTEED, I hope the N-Revolution will wave with the PS3 and XB360 otherwise Nintendo are going to get sidelined again.

But other than that the GameCube is actually quite good-It's really more powerful than the PS2 is terms of graphics, Nintendo have always aimed their consoles at children (Except the N64, i noticed that alot of the N64 games were T and M rated) but the GameCube is no exception.

GameCube specs:

Graphics: 8.9/10:
The graphics that the GameCube can handle are wonderful, as u know they are better than the PS2s graphics and that is saying alot, however the graphics GameCube have are still inferior to what the XBox has.

Sound:8/10:
Good sound, nuff said but the sound is a large improvement over N64-That console had TERRIBLE audio.

games (amount): 7/10
The Gamecube, like the XBox suffers a lack in games but there are a good amount.

games (genre): 8/10:
GameCube does produce some great games, it has LOADS of games aimed at kids-however there is a large amount of M and T rated games on the GameCube like Ghost Recon, Metroid prime, Resident Evil etc.

Online:5/10:
The GameCube's online service is poor-thanks to the fact that only 5% of the GameCube's games actually use online, the NRev will have improved online capabilities

Standard multiplayer: 9/10:
Yeah there are PLENTY of games on the GameCube that uses normal multiplayer-sports, racing, wrestling, shooters etc. It uses 4-controller-ports which makes its normal-multiplayer much better than that of PS2, however PS2 wins in Online-multiplayer-XBox has the best of both-XBox LIVE and XBox uses 4-controller-ports as well that makes the XBox the best thing for multiplayer.

Overall: 8.8/10:
Marvelous console-a shame it didn't have the ability to play DVDs/CDs and have a good Online mode-Recommended for people of all ages who love standard multiplayer.

I also own a PS2,i used to have an XBox but it broke-However I'm getting an XBox 360 soon so i can play my old XBox games and next-gen titles (I am aware that XBox 360 can't play all my XBox titles but it can play most of them as i read the list of XBox 360 backwards compatible games to XBox-only 2/15 of my old XBox games can't play on 360 (Full Spectrum Warrior and Return To Castle Wolfenstein-a shame because i used to love those games).

Parents/Guardians click the pic above and buy the GameCube for your kids if they love multiplayer and plus the Gamecube has a large amount of kid friendly games-Not to mention the GameCube is VERY cheap, but still great quality though. The GameCube is actually recommended to all ages also.

bye

GameCube Jet Black $100

Despite it's kiddie image, and being rated as just for kids, the gamecube features some of the best games ever created.

Resident Evil 4 displays just what the Gamecube can do. The graphics look as good as any Ps2 games. Plus, it's scary and features no more corny zombie moments.

Other games for it are Metroid, which was featured as one the best games of 2004 by EGM. Super smash brothers is also a great game, and of course the legend of Zelda: the wind Waker. And Pikmin. And Paper Mario, and Super Mario sunshine, and and and!

Before dismissing the system for kids and nothing else, take a look at these games, and many more, and decide for yourself.

The system itself is pretty lame looking, it's small and the handle is almost like a barney handle, but forget the lame exterior and focus on the games. Games are what matter, not sexiness.
