Great product. Just as described. Made of a heavy duty, durable plastic. Built for real life conditions. Definitely the thing to use if you want to filter a larger quantity of water. The Katadyn TRK Drip Gravidyn free-standing gravity filter features a 10 liter water container for large quantities of water. I have been searching in town for some time for a lunch box large enough

Initially developed for and tested by the U.S. military, the MSR Miox Purifier eliminates the need to pump water by combining a small amount of untreated water and charging it with electricity to produce a cocktail of mixed oxidants that you add to your untreated water to kill viruses, bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium within a four hour period. The salt dosage is so small that it doesn't impart any bad flavor or health risk like iodine and other chemical purifiers. As for the other features: The outside of the tumbler stays cool to the touch, and the rubber bottom keeps it from slipping around. However, because of it's design, it could tip over if you knock against it. So don't plan on putting this on your dashboard or floorboard of your car or anything like that. It is the perfect width at the bottom to fit into most cup holders. The rubber around the middle of the tumblers makes for an easy non-slip grip, and the top screws on easily and tightly. My only complaint is that the snap top for the sipper hole does not "snap." It just kind of closes, but it isn't securely closed. So, don't go putting it in a briefcase or backpack, because it is likely to leak onto your stuff. I haven't actually tried this, though (and I don't plan to), so I could be wrong. Although it isn't spill proof if you hold it upside down or on its side, it is spill proof while you drink. The rim of the lid is much higher than the base of the lid, so it prevents coffee from spilling all over you while you're sipping it (unless you're an extraordinarily untalented drinker). When you flip the top open, you do need to hold it open or it might flip down onto your nose - this happened to me and I wound up having to wipe drops of coffee off my nose. It's super easy to clean - just like any other tumbler. So, overall, I would completely recommend this to anybody who needs a travel tumbler that does keep coffee the perfect temperature. If you need something leak-proof, however, because you plan on putting it into your brief case or something, I would recommend getting a different Nissan thermos.

The time degrades from that to about 8 hours if you are drinking the contents. If you fill the bottle with hot water, let it sit for a few minutes, to heat up the inside of the bottle, and then fill it with your coffee, it will stay hot for as long as you leave it full and unopened. Sounds silly, but try it. Most days, I actually want to drink some of my coffee before the day has passed and the thermos works well for that too. I make a pot (7 cups will fit) in the morning, rinse the bottle out with very hot water, and I drink my coffee throughout the day. It is very hot for most of the day, into the evening. If a cup or two remain at the end of the day, they will not stay hot into the next morning. It only works for more than a day, if you leave it completely full, and don't open it until you want to drink it. The bottle is well made. I've had it for almost 6 months now and use it every day. I even use it on weekends so I can turn my coffee pot off. It keeps the coffee fresher and just as hot as leaving it on the heating burner. I only recommend this thermos (or any stainless steel bottle) for black coffee, tea, or hot water. Add your cream and sugar or whatever afterwards. Vacuum bottles are not dishwasher safe and it is dangerous to put food stuffs in it because you won't be able to get it completely clean. Coffee and tea can be rinsed out without a problem. Summary. Keeps fluids hot for up to 8 hours of normal use. Up to 48 hours of full quantity storage. Very durable and drip proof. Not dishwasher safe, and should not be used with soup, cream, milk, or sugar. Conclusion. Is day old coffee still "day old" if it is still piping hot?

Didn't know about the progress made in recent years at keeping cold, cold and hot, hot. Now I'm totally converted to thermal everything since I purchased a carafe to use as a tea pot and a thermal travel mug for drinking that tea. All day, I have a fresh cuppa, like the first cup in the morning. I decided to add a piece to the set -- something to keep the milk cold on the counter. I selected the Nissan 1-pint bottle with straw. As it turned out, this isn't suitable for use with dairy products (or carbonated drinks). But on the day the package arrived from Beardsmen, I was laid flat with a back problem. This bottle arrived just in time. It's comfortable to hold, doesn't release condensation onto the tabletop, and it's easy to sip while supine without spilling a drop. I certainly couldn't do that from a regular cup or even a sports-pak plastic bottle without lifting my head which, at the time, wasn't an option. Just thought I'd mention it.

It keeps your beverage nice and hot, and fills up my work mug twice, perfectly. If you're careful not to cross-thread the lid, it can be carried upside down with no leakage. This is a well-styled product, as well. I feel like I'm transporting a top-secret radioactive substance when I carry it. ;)

I used to use this every day for lunch/dinner between long classes. It's surprisingly efficient and will keep something reasonably heated for half the day. From my experience, it will keep things hot longer the more fluid it is, but I liked to put things like lasagna and meatball/pasta with lots of sauce in there. Mmmm. Be sure to wash thoroughly, never put in the dishwasher, and gently clean the silicone O-ring. If you're worried about leaks, something I've never experienced as a student, just drop it in a big Ziploc bag. The orange dimples on the Thermos Nissan version is indented, making the lid easier to remove. It also seems to be better quality in build than the plain "Thermos" food jar version.

I used this heater last summer, for washing dishes, and showers while boat
camping. Heater works off a propane canister, so have extras of those. Pump
depends on a small battery that has its own compartment. I carried a spare
battery out of caution, but didn't need it on my longest trip of three nights
with three people. I would guess 6-7 short showers were taken, along with
washing dishes and hand washings during meal prep. The instant on/off feature of the Coleman is also a great advantage especially when showering. You can rinse off, shut off the water, soap up and turn on the water for a final rinse with just a turn of a dial. Since even three gallons of water goes fast, the ease of shutting off the unit "in between" is very handy. With the Zodi the best approach I found was to put the shower-head in the water supply "in between." This works, but it means the burner is continuing to run, using fuel, and if you are not quick, the water can get hotter than you may want. (Shutting off the Zodi means you have to get out the lighter or matches to relight, which can be a pain if you are wet and soapy.) With the Coleman's built in igniter, a simple turn of the dial gets every thing going again. By the way, so far the igniter has worked as flawlessly as the one on the gas range top at home. You turn the dial, you hear a little "swoosh" as the burner comes on, and you have hot water.

I clicked the pic above and purchased this for camping/canoe trips as a safe inside-the-tent light. When empty it's a bit top heavy but full of water it's fairly stable. The white light won't blind anyone but it provides barely adequate light for reading. Either light color (red or white) is fine for a night light. The light switch is a bit stiff but it probably won't turn on by accident. The top diameter is larger than a wide mouth liter Nalgene bottle. So far no complaints.

These water bottles are wonderful for workouts/work/anything. These bottles do come with the Mountain Gear logo on them. I have purchased 10 in the past year and only two of them have begun to leak from the cap.
